Open your camera, pick a character, and watch yourself morph — your expressions, gaze, and head motion carry straight into the character, frame by frame, live.
Live Morph is LiveGen's flagship mode: a real-time character transformation that replaces what the camera sees with a character you choose, while everything that makes the performance yours — the timing of a smile, a raised eyebrow, where you're looking, how you tilt your head — carries through into the character as it happens.
This is a different thing from a costume filter or a static avatar. A sticker-style filter decorates your image; a VTuber rig demands a modeled, rigged puppet before you can start. Live Morph needs neither: one reference image of a character is enough, and the transformation runs on the live video itself. The result reads as a performance — a character being acted by you in real time — which is what makes it usable for streaming, videos, and calls rather than a one-shot novelty. (For the concept and terminology, see the canonical definition: what is live morph?)
Behind the scenes, your camera streams frame by frame over WebRTC to LiveGen's real-time engine, which re-generates each frame as the target character while preserving your pose, expression, and timing, then returns it to a standard video element in your browser. There is no upload-and-wait step and no per-clip render queue — the loop is continuous, which is what makes a true real-time character transformation possible. The underlying technique is real-time video diffusion.
Character videos used to mean one of two workflows: batch AI tools (upload a clip, wait minutes, download a result) or VTuber pipelines (model, rig, calibrate — then perform). Live Morph collapses both into one step: the character exists the moment your camera turns on, and it stays in sync with you for the whole session. No queue between takes, no rig before the first take. That immediacy is the point — it turns "making a character video" into simply being the character for a few minutes, the same live loop behind LiveGen's other modes like Outfit Swap and Style Morph.
LiveGen's real-time character mode: your live camera is transformed into a character of your choice while your expressions, gaze, and motion carry through as they happen. The term itself is defined in our glossary entry.
No. A single reference image of a character is enough — no 3D modeling, rigging, or tracking hardware.
Yes. That's the core of the mode: blinks, smiles, gaze direction, and head motion all track through to the character in real time.
Yes. The output renders into a standard browser video element, so you can capture the tab in OBS or your streaming software and go live as the character.
Use presets, original characters, or characters you have rights to. Real people's likenesses require consent, uploads are moderated, and the content policy applies.
It's free to start with credits included; 1 credit = 1 second of generation. Free exports are watermarked; paid tiers add HD and remove the watermark (verify current pricing).
Yes — it runs in mobile and desktop browsers, no app required.
Avatar apps animate a puppet next to (or instead of) your video. Live Morph transforms the video itself, so the character inherits your framing, lighting, and performance — it looks shot, not simulated.
